From the moment I arrived until the moment I left Lorraine couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. My room was always comfortable and spotlessly clean and the breakfast enough to keep me going all day. The location was perfect with a 400 metre walk to the coast and a similar walk to the town centre in the opposite direction. Between South Shore and the coast are lovely parks, a small theatre and a small leisure centre with swimming pool and gym. On the opposite side of the road there are a wide range of restaurants catering for many different types of cuisine. The Metro provides a fabulous link to Newcastle and the surrounding area. A thoroughly enjoyable break made all the better by having such a lovely place to stay. I hope to be back as soon as possible.

We liked the friendly welcome from mine hosts Lorraine and Andrew. They went the extra mile, even helped us getting information on the Tyne Tunnel. We were there on our wedding anniversary and the owners had left an anniversary card or us. Very thoughtful and it was very much appreciated. The breakfast was what you would expect - full English. Ideal base for going around the North East area.
