The position and location. The staff were very efficient, kind, present when checking, helpful…and smily! Air conditioning & double soundproofing balcony doors which dampened out the sounds of late evening ‘party-goers’ at Bars around the quayside.

The hotel was perfect for our one night stay, clean and comfortable and conveniently close (a 10 minute walk) to the port, ready for our morning ferry transfer to Skopelos. The hotel kindly arranged our taxi transfer from the airport and, although we arrived quite late in the evening due to flight delay, was waiting outside the hotel to greet us and help us check in. The hotel is set in an atmospheric part of the old harbour, with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars around. We had lovely views from our little balcony over the harbour and enjoyed a fabulous breakfast the next morning at the Bourtzi restaurant that was recommended to us.

Our room was overlooking a tiny, shingle cove which was adjacent to the old port. We had a 3D view of the Aegean from our private corner terrace and could hear the lapping of the waves when the terrace door was open. The decor was a blend of rustic modernism with stone wall features and minimalist, pastel furnishings. To say the apartment and its setting were idyllic is an understatement. The friendly personas of the staff, combined with the high level of cleanliness, free fresh coffee and mini-bar made the overall experience memorable.

The location was right next to Gin Fish with a short walk to the old harbour and into the town. If you like to snorkel you can enter the water beneath the hotel rooms and fin around to the adjacent coves. You will see locals use the area for bathing as well.
