The staff managed by Bernard are welcoming and friendly. It’s a new hotel with 4 rooms and they don’t have facilities for drivers. The room and bed was comfortable with a lovely pool. A few local cafes and bars are 50m walk away with a cool village vibe, the location is perfect. Thank you!

Small hotel but everything is well arranged. Big, clean and comfortable rooms. Very nice swimming pool. Probably the best hotel of our stay in Sri Lanka. Bernard and the rest of the staff were very friendly and always made sure that our stay was perfect.

We had a wonderful stay for two nights at Lion Gate Hotel. Bernard and his staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable and we had everything we needed. The rooms were very clean and the food was delicious. We especially loved the pool.

We stayed at the Lion Gate hotel for three nights and it was our favourite hotel during our trip to Sri Lanka. Bernard and his team are very attentive, organising all the tours and transport (including pick up from Negombo and onward transport to Kandy), making sure we got fair deals. The breakfast was excellent and it varied every day. The room was to a high standard and the pool was lovely. There are only four rooms so it feels very private.

We had a lovely stay at the Lion Gate hotel . Very well positioned for the various sights in the area . Very clean modern rooms . Lots of hot water in the showers . Breakfast was excellent . Swimming pool kept really clean a lovely bonus at the end of the day. All the staff very friendly and helpful .

The hotel manager Bernard and everyone who works there is very kind, they welcomed us with a glass of lemonade and were overall very accommodating when we need help with some things. The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable.

We had an unforgettable stay at this hotel in Sigiriya! The personnel were absolutely brilliant and made our visit truly special. They went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, and their hospitality was exceptional. A highlight of our stay was how they celebrated my husband’s birthday—surprising us with a delicious cake and making the day feel extra special. They also took great care of us throughout our trip, arranging all our excursions seamlessly so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. The only area for improvement is the restaurant. While the food was good, a lot of menu options were unavailable during our stay, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for its outstanding service and warm, welcoming staff.

Bernard and all the staff were so welcoming and couldn't do enough to please us. They accommodated all our requests including a wish for an authentic vegetable Sri Lankan curry. Thanks to all of you, you were the best. All trips and taxis can be organised through the hotel too.
