You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.While Cambodian rural architecture has been extensively studied by leading researchers, they found the sad fact is that traditional housing has been disappearing at a too fast pace from the countryside and, obviously, from urban development.
At Dontrei Villa Angkor, we love these houses. Because they tell us of the Cambodian past, of the cleverness and humility of the past generations. Because they are things of beauty, harmoniously blending into their natural environment – sit on the balcony of any of our houses and you’ll get the feeling. And because they are surprisingly adapted to modern life, with the wooden walls gently absorbing the day heat, and releasing it at dusk.
Dontrei Villa Angkor founder and director Davy Chan, along with husband Ly and a team of carpenters, has rescued and repurposed some nine traditional houses since 2019. Some of the houses are from over 30-year old to 160-year old Cambodian traditional houses.
Gently dismantling these time-honored structures, moving them with care to our grounds, redesigning them while keeping their harmonious proportions, replacing damaged timber and roof tiles: this is a labor we undertake with our heart.

We booked the room with a private pool and this was a great way to cool off midday when the heat got abit too much for us! The place was peaceful and tranquil and you could really relax. The onsite restaurant/bar was handy. It was great that there is a tuktuk driver stationed outside, although not employed by the resort we appreciated the staff recommending him - we didn't use anyone else but him. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

After being all templed-out and staying in the city for a few days it was such a delight to arrive to Dontrei Villa to just unwind and recharge. The staff is lovely, very helpful.My honeymoon suite was super clean and bohemian chic stylish. Bed was very comfortable and invited to a good night's sleep. The pool was open until late and it was refreshing to take a dip after the sun had set. I had one dinner here and it was very tasty. A tuk tuk to the city will cost you USD3. A huge thank you to the staff for making my stay a most memorable one

This place is truly beautiful, a bit far from the city centre but in my opinion it's worth it. It's green everywhere, lots of plants, beautiful pool, villas are looking gorgeous. Trees have fairy lights on them and in the evenings it looks truly magical. People working there are some of the sweetest and the most helpful we've ever met in any hotel. Breakfasts were really good, you can choose from the list and they will prepare it for you in around 10 minutes, you're really getting a good meal and great coffee. We had occasional dinners and we also really liked it. Prices are comparable to those downtown. Our villa was cozy and clean, private pool was awesome and was cleaned every day. Bed was huge and comfy. We didn't experience any problems with WiFi or hot water, everything was great. Tuk tuk is on standby by the hotel which is very convenient. We would definitely recommend this place for everyone who wants some peace and quiet after long hot days. It's definitely a local experience and in our opinion far better then big hotels.

The room and the property itself is gorgeous. Staying in an old Khmer house was wonderful, they’ve kept the character of such a building and added the modern comforts that made our stay relaxing and comfortable. For us, the location was wonderful. Slightly out of the main town area, with all the peace and quiet that comes with. It’s just a 10 minute Tuk Tuk into Siem Reap town, approximately the same to Angkor Wat ticket office & then a further 15 minutes from the ticket office to Angkor Wat itself. By car to the airport is just shy of an hour drive. Tuk Tuk’s are nearly always available and waiting outside the hotel and you can rent a scooter if you fancy exploring yourself. We also booked the small circle tour of Angkor Wat through Dontrei and our driver couldn’t have been lovelier, so a big thank you and recommendation to him. The staff were all lovely, friendly and willing to accommodate with anything. Breakfast was good and the snacks we had were just as good. 10/10 recommend to anybody wanting a little oasis, in a peaceful spot, close enough to all the fun and sights of Siem Reap.

Setting was peaceful and well decorated. The rooms are spacious and classy. The location is perfect to have calm and tranquility, and avoid the hype of SiemReap. Only at 15min in scooter from Angkor Wat.

We had the most amazing stay at Dontrei Villa. Our Bungalow with private pool was very beautiful, and relaxing. The place is a bit out of the city but there are tultuks in front of the hotel that can bring you there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And although it is often not the case in hotels, the food was great!! They have very tasty Cambodian dishes on the menu, and the a la carte breakfast was also good.

Really great oasis of relaxation. Everything really seems like someone put a lot of effort and care into it. We were in the honeymoonsuite for 4 nights and had a lovely stay. The interior design is really gorgeous, the plants/the pool/the whole atmosphere is just right. The location also wasn’t an issue actually more of a plus for us cause you’re outside of the city noise and only a 10 minute tuktuk drive away from everything. They have tuktuks on hold for you at every time. All in all definitely 100% recommended
