Hotel Overview

Sitting in 120 hectares of Douro Valley vineyards, this traditional manor house has been converted into Portugal’s first wine hotel.
At Quinta Nova Winery House – Relais & Châteaux, guests can get a real understanding of the spirit of the Douro Valley by observing wine making and farming activities, following the walkers’ trails and discovering the historic sites on the estate. Staff greeted us in a friendly and helpful manner. The views from the room and terrace were stunning. We had a great couple of days and enjoyed the wines and particularly the wine tasting enormously.

Absolutely beautiful house in a stunning setting. Very comfortable rooms, lovely dining and relaxing areas. Great infinity pool with views of the vineyards. Nice wine museum and tour. We loved the boat ride the hotel organised up the river to Pinhâo. Friendly, helpful staff.

A stunning location with beautiful views all around! The property is immaculately maintained, lovely tall cypress trees line the outdoor areas with views of the vineyards & river beyond. Very comfortable rooms, wonderful interiors. Many options for sitting outdoors, including a pool. The restaurant offers delicious breakfast and dinner, excellent service! We tried many of the wines both from Quinta Nova as well as the Dao winery - superb 👌

A wonderful location with a swimming pool and beautiful views over the vineyard and the Douro river. Lovely, helpful staff and a very comfortable room with great facilities. The restaurant was also excellent with high quality food and drink from breakfast through to dinner. Great walk through the vineyard to the Douro and an interesting winery tour and tasting. We also had a private boat trip up the Douro to Pinhão which was magical.

Quinta Nova is an amazing experience and the location and views are outstanding, the staff were lovely, although language was sometimes a challenge, they may have been a little short staffed while we were there as we did have to wait a while when we ordered drinks a few times. The position and overall experience was wonderful.
