I had dinner in the bar in front of a very welcome fire, and it was excellent. I recommend the Chef's steak and ale pie! Breakfast was also very good, large portions and plenty of choice. Friendly and helpful staff.

Warm and welcoming and 5 minutes from the M6. Beautiful garden to enjoy in the summer. We loved the roaring log fire in the bar area. We slept well and enjoyed a cooked breakfast in the morning. We also had our evening meal which was cooked to perfection. Staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely return!

The room was well appointed with everything one needed for an overnight stay. It was nice to have a bath in the en-suite and we enjoyed a meal in the restaurant after a long day.

The Brantwood is a traditional hotel/pub with modern amenities. We enjoyed a drink at the bar with log fire, before eating a delicious, home-cooked meal in the restaurant. I had two generous fillets of local trout, cooked to perfection. Breakfast was equally good. We were on our way to Oban the next morning so only had time for a short walk to catch a glimpse of Ullswater thanks to directions from the friendly staff.

Great hotel. Good to see the bar and restaurant busy. Room was great with a bit of quirky. I like squeeky floor boards🤣. Bathroom was clean and a good size bath with plenty of hot water. WiFi was very good. Staff were friendly and the food was tasty. If I could have I would have booked another night.
