This might have been one of the best places we stayed in Japan. The room was right above the cafè but very quiet and cute with an incredible view. The cafè downstairs was delightful and had a lovely view. The coffee and tea were incredible. You can even eat your own food there. All the bathrooms are shared but that's no problem at all. The price was fantastic for what we got. We also enjoyed talking to other guests. The view from the lookout above the shrine is also spectacular.

Amazing view from the room and terrace. Lovely staff and easy check in/out. Walk up the hill is not so bad. Instant coffee and teabags are offered.

Beautiful view and excellent reach to take a walk around Onomichi. Spacious room were we could comfortably lay down 4 futons

Onomichi Guest House blew my husband and I away. We had the pleasure of staying for NYE; there is no better place to enjoy the sunrise on January 1st. It is located right below Senkoji, the most popular temple. The cafe has an old-timey vibe and guests can use it freely to relax, including bringing in your own food. I tried the ginger latte, it was delicious. The staff is very kind. The two-person room we booked, although small, was cozy and have good storage for luggage. We did have a large and small suitcase with us, but by taking some breaks along the way we had no problem going up and down the stairs to get to the guest house. The staff can keep your bags for you outside of check-in and check-out time. Two shared toilets are in the same building as the rooms, and two showers are in a separate building next door. If you are able to handle climbing up and down stairs and don't mind sharing facilities, don't hesitate to book a night or two here.

Amazing location, but be prepared for the many, many steps and leave your luggage at a coin locker! The building is very cool and historical, it was a fun experience.

The view is amazing, with the sunrise from your bed! We had a warm welcome and clear explanations. The path to go there is steep but alright with backpacks (as they clearly say, it seem hard to get there with a suitcase). The shared bathroom was pretty clean.

I liked the view and the toilet was clean! Would keep the luggages in the station if we could do it all over again. The staff was friendly and briefed us on the amenities.

Beautiful house with an incredible view. Lovely cafe and friendly staff who were very helpful - let us do our washing and recommended some great restaurants in town. Would highly recommend.
