This has a great location - opposite the JR station and right in the centre of Nikko town so you’re very close to shops , restaurants and cafes . I thought the rooms were great value for money as they were a decent size and had a bath with Shiseido shower gel/Shampoo & conditioner ( which I really appreciate after a long day of walking ) . The beds are firm ( love that too) so I slept well in the quiet rooms . The hotel also has a very nice onsen with a good sized rotenburo ( open air bath) which was nicer in many of the fancier hotels I’ve stayed in . The hotel has quite a retro air which I quite like as I’m not keen on hotels rooms in shades of black and grey . There’s a fridge & in the room . Rooms come with a yukata , there is plenty of skincare amenities ( cleansing oil , toner etc , lotion ) near the front desk perfect for when you want to travel light and don’t want to lug a ton of products for an overnight stay . Staff are helpful

Excellent location, near to station. Room is big and face a nice view of the town. Breakfast is quite comprehensive, love the curry rice. Only feedback is lack of microwave to warm up food from combini.

Location was great. Easy walk from station and shops. Grand old hotel feel. Great breakfast area. Very pleasant. Really enjoyed our stay here and room quite a bit bigger than a lot of Japanese hotels.

The staff is very nice and helpful. We were able to communicate with sign language, and the receptionist we had was excellent. The hotel is comfortable, its onsen is superb, the breakfast is good, and its location is excellent, a 30-second walk from the train station.

Location was great,close to both train stations and bus stations that take you to the world heritage area. View from the bedroom was beautiful ,able to see the snow capped mountains. The size of the room was larger than average for Japan. With small table and sitting area. Choices at breakfast were reasonable,however more western options would be good. The room was clean,however the carpet needs a freshen up,in addition to the carpet in the hallways.
