We loved the history and charm of this place. We were only there for one night but will definitely be back. We had a lovely welcome the minute we walked in, the staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful, some of the furniture (chair in the corner) could do with a clean and some of the throws and pillows could be a bit fresher but the bed itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable which was more important to me. We went down for a pre dinner drink and spoke to the bar tender who was very pleasant and gave us an interesting historical account of the hotel. The food was lovely and dinning room was beautifully lit and had a lovely atmosphere. All in all we will definitely return to this hotel.

The approach and grounds look fantastic. A very warm reception upon arrival and very helpful staff. The price for the rooms, food and drinks were all very reasonable.

The property was really nice, with good interior design, you can take lots of good pictures there. Nice lounges. Perfect breakfast (brunch) with no extra cost, it was the best breakfast we had during our journey.

Wonderful location and historic building ..room was clean bed comfortable..we had onion rings for starter and steak for dinner with a lovely red wine 🍷 delicious dinner ..Arrived early The concierge/host Joe greeted us got us a drink and had our room ready ,he was dressed v well ,professional and friendly, this property is fortunate to have a staff member like this ,Kat was also very nice and helpful ,could not fault the service, grounds and ambience..thank you.

Stayed in Boyes Lyon Suite, massive is an understatement, bigger than our first flat Evening meal was very nice, although meal returned to chef as salmon was under-cooked. Staff were all fantastic

Such a beautiful house! The historic rooms, the library, the music room etc give this castle such a special feel. Dinner was also great. Loved everything here.
