This hotel was an excellent choice. It was only 3 miles away from Bakewell, 15 miles from Buxton and there was a local shopping centre in walking distance; called Peak Village. The staff were very attentive, friendly and the room was lovely and comfortable, with excellent tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was good value for money, evening meals varied on quality. Would definitely revisit.

The room was very good, large and comfortable, the staff exceptional, pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was very good, as my partner and friend wanted something small to eat, which wasn't on the menu, but the staff said no problem. Dinner was great, good food and choice on the menu.

Having stayed here before I knew it was a great base for a walking break. Rooms are spacious, clean & comfortable with a good shower. Breakfast & evening meals were very good & a 30% off offer for the evening meals certainly helped the budget. Staff are a pleasure. Easy to find & park, I can't fault it :-)

The stay was lovely, the room (1) was decorated lovely! Had real character and was beautifully designed. Travelling with a baby was made easier with the communal fridge at the bottom of the stairs to put our milk in. The bath was a great size, as well as the bed. It would have been good to know about stairs somewhere on the booking to prepare but didn't really impact us! Overall great stay!

Positives: Tom - Brilliant member of staff running the mornings, he was extremely courteous and helpful especially with breakfasts and making sure our stay was comfortable and well managed. Location - Brilliant location if you’re travelling by car, plenty of parking and charging points. Really good base for exploring the Peak District. Room - Very comfortable with a homely aesthetic and everything you might need for a pleasant stay. Negatives: Drinks - This is mainly to do with cocktails and availability. We ordered an espresso martini and cosmopolitan, and we could not taste any alcohol in either. Unfortunately, these were probably the worst cocktails we’ve ever had and came in at £17. Additionally, quite a limited list of drinks to order from and the some on the menu weren’t available anyway. Food - All I can say is that the food is probably just above or around a Weatherspoons level but triple the price Just would like to point out that Tom and other members of staff were very polite and extremely helpful. However, there were other members of staff, specifically the cocktail maker and evening waitress, who weren’t as helpful. In particular, defending his god awful cocktails not even offering an alternative drink, and not allowing small changes to be made to some of the food options despite this being a practice at breakfast.
