This is a beautiful and unique hotel. The staff were so very kind, especially Martin who is attentive, friendly, and competent. The location is a plus in that it is close to the Mattancherry palace and the synagogue. We would highly recommend this jewel of a hotel

This really is a very special hotel. You feel like you've stepped into another world. We saw some of the rooms and each of them is designed in a different style, always very appealing. There are numerous surprises, from the golden entrance door to the golden toilet bowl . Right next door is the seemingly endless antique store of the owner, who showed us his best pieces during a personal tour. We should also mention the beautiful restaurant right on the water and the very friendly staff. Martin is a treasure who greeted us every day with a smile and fulfilled every wish. Many thanks to Martin, George and the entire Ginger House Team! Don't miss out on this unique experience at a good price-performance ratio!

From our very first contact, George was an exceptional host. He was responsive and helpful. He organised great trips, all at good prices. The hotel is extraordinary, owned by an antiques dealer, with every room unique. His massive showrooms are attached to the hotel, so, if that is your thing, you will be in heaven. We had three rooms and each were special. While full of antiques, there was still modern features like Japanese style electric toilet seats. The food was lovely and, unlike many places in the area, you could grab a cold beer. We loved our stay and will definitely return.

It’s an old spice warehouse that has been converted to a hotel, very sympathetically and very comfortable at the same time. Lovely spacious rooms and bathrooms. Great staff especially George who was very welcoming and so helpful with food and transport and anything we wanted. He even tried to help after we left with a booking for another date (his hotel was already booked), so kind. We also met Martin briefly who was also lovely. Amazing breakfast each morning in their restaurant overlooking the water.

The hotel was located right inside Fort Kochi, so location was great. It's also on the waterside which is very nice. The room we had was large and clean with an enormous double bed. It was all done with beautiful antique furniture, really special, while the bathroom was huge and modern. A really special kind of heritage hotel. Staff were excellent and the owner told us of how he started with an antique business then added a restaurant and then the hotel.

Large, beautiful room with everything we needed. Many artefacts and antiques all over property. Property owner often around and very hands-on. Right in the heart of the old town 2 minutes from Jewish Synagogue and Dutch Palace. Great restaurant in the hotel - extensive menu and good value. They serve beer and wine, though wine selection isn’t great and is expensive - seems to be the case all over India.

Everyone was nice, especially Georges at the reception. My stay was exceptional, with lots of positives. Mr Majnu the owner, was there every morning to ensure that everything was going on smoothly. The cuisine was one of the best in Cochi. Do try the seafood platter! Also do visit the hotel which is also a museum full of history. Overall i give the hotel a 5/5 ☺️👍

My room was spectacular (verandah with sea view, mirrored ceiling, black marble bathroom), and very comfortable. The pool is a bit small, but has a great view.

Exceptional hotel. Authentic, comfortable and perfectly located for the Jew street shops. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating. George is particular was an absolute gentlemen’s - he went out of his way to help us arrange an amazing back water trip, liaise with a local tailor and much more besides. Just wonderful!
