The hotel is quite nice. I think the breakfast is really good and the staff takes good care of you. I think it’s a little run down for the price they charge. The spa area really needs an upgrade and could use more frequent cleaning. The rooms as well could use some upgrades, given that they charge a premium price. One night I was woken up at 4am because they had a fault in their fire alarm so that wasn’t pleasant.

I like a lot the staff; they are very friendly and ready to help. The food was also very good. I specially like the restaurants that are linked to the hotel. Moreover, it is important to mention that the hotel is very central, and easy access to the main turist attractions.

- Very nice and spacious rooms with all the amenities you need. Good room service. - Quiet! - Big garden - Nice bar - Spa facilities (easy to book and use) - There are shops in the vicinity to buy some things, but you kind of ‚need‘ (15 minute walk) a taxi to get to e.g Thamel

We had lovely breakfasts during our stay at Spices and the staff were incredibly attentive and kind. We also enjoyed the dinner at the other outlet. I would say, service wise was excellent.

I decided to stay here for my last night in Nepal on this trip. I've been to Kathmandu many times and was unaware of this hotel until this trip. The history is interesting and the grounds amazing in such a busy city. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room design was a lovely mix of heritage and modernity - very comfortable. The breakfast definitely had the best choice I've had in Kathmandu. I opted to dine in the Spice Room and was impressed with the menu options. I would have liked to try The Chimney restaurant too, especially for the historical borsch.
