We had a hotel change to the A Plus Hotel. It is the sister Hotel to the Lemon Residence around the corner. A 3 minute walk. Very similar hotels. This is our second visit.

Lemon Residence is perfectly located - just a few minutes walk from Taxim Square, where you can get transport to pretty much anywhere in the city, including the airport, and very close to Istiklal Street - a pedestrianised zone with all manner of shops, boutiques, restaurants and cafes, as well as exchange bureaus that offer the best rates in the city. Perfect for a first-time visit to Istanbul! It may seem like a dodgy area to begin with, but we found it safe enough to walk around at pretty much any time of day or night. The staff at Lemon are great - super friendly and helpful, and they let us leave our luggage when we checked out on the last day, which was great because our flight wasn't until midnight so we had the whole day to do museum/sightseeing/shopping! The rooms are kept clean, with fresh towels and bedsheets (non-synthetic!) as well as bedroom slippers on request.
