We had a lovely stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We stayed in on our first night after travelling and taking in a lovely walk around the surrounding area we thought we would sample the menu. The food was exceptional. All locally sourced and so fresh. We also enjoyed a delicious Malbec with our food, great wine selection. My partner had a cheese board to finish, they had a great selection. Breakfast was fab, my partner had a full English both days. I had a full english with scrambled egg (delicious) first morning. my second morning I tried the smoked haddock and poached eggs (poached to perfection). All served with homemade bread, toasted. The coffee was really good too. The second evening we booked a table at the local Indian, very tiny restaurant. There are no taxis available, the chef of the hotel very kindly nipped us in to town and picked us back up. Excellent service! We will definitely be visiting again.

- Food really high quality and breakfast was really impressive. Fantastic menu and really enjoyed our food during our stay. - Location was exquisite, remote and quiet and just what we wanted. - Staff were really friendly, welcoming and helpful.

It would be better if the rooms were serviced we stayed for 2 nights and would have appreciated the bins being emptied, tea making facilities replenished and towels changed . Breakfast was good served between 8.30 and 9.30 . Staff were friendly . There was some black mould on the shower ceiling . We were disappointed with the evening meal as the portions were very small and expensive . The furniture in the room was a little tired . Bedside lights not bright enough to read .

Lovely traditional pub, fabulous food with a good choice for meals and breakfast, excellent helpful staff and most of all dog friendly! Would recommend and will be staying again.
