Hotel Overview

With a magnificent location, looking out over the harbour and the River Dart, right in the heart of Dartmouth, this 17th-century building offers bright, airy rooms, free Wi-Fi and a stylish restaurant.
Privately owned, the award-winning Royal Castle Hotel has a great location, in the centre of the pretty town of Dartmouth, with its cobbled streets, intriguing shops and world-famous restaurants and bars.
Rooms are en suite, and all of them are unique and individually decorated. Many of the rooms have river views, four-poster beds and spa baths. Every room has a TV and tea/coffee making facilities.
With wonderful views out over the river, our restaurant offers delicious food made from the best, freshest produce available locally.
The hotel also has 2 bars: the contemporary Harbour bar and the more traditional Galleon bar. Both bars have real open log fires burning in the winter.

This family room boasts a river view. The room offers a radio and TV. The majority of the rooms have spa baths. Fantastic old hotel in the centre of beautiful Dartmouth. Well run, great staff and first class service. Lovely bar/ restaurant. Also it’s an excellent dog friendly hotel…….Will be back again!

Very lovely 2 night weekend stay in January. Staff were friendly, efficient and accommodating right from the time of booking to checking out. Great room with a great view over looking the river. The hotel is full of interesting things to look at and the staircases are a sight to see. Ate there both nights and the food was very good. Advise to book a table as is popular with what seemed to be guests and locals. Surrounding area is lovely plenty to see and do even out of season. Hope to return again.

Great location in the middle of beautiful Dartmouth. Good breakfast. Loved the history of the building, originally being 4 merchant houses at the back with an Inn at the front and central courtyard. Staff great. Nice toiletries, coffee, biscuits and water in room.
