We had been upgraded to an executive room, which was large and had a great view. The bed was very comfortable. Hotel looked impressive from the outside and inside, especially the grand staircase. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Perfect location to explore Buxton and the Peak District.

Cost effective hotel - Functional clean room, albeit dated, the window opened which was a bonus because the hotel overall was very warm, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water & clean towels, internet worked well, tea coffee & biscuits in the room. Plenty of on site "paid" parking (although in all fairness its hard to complain about £5.00 a night parking charge) Buxton, as a location has some beautiful local scenery.

Hotel is in a great location. staff all really friendly. Paid to use the pool however did not use the shower facilities as a lot of mould in the shower cubicles and the floor was dirty and slippery. Hotel itself could do with some TLC. We had food in the lounge bar which was lovely and good value for money.

Location was brilliant, town is a 5 minute walk,central for many hikes.Staff were super friendly, beautiful building.Will definitely return.

Our room was really lovely. Clean and comfortable. My husband is tall so bed was a little small for him. Breakfast was very nice. There was a good choice. Only grip I have is the plates per not very clean. I had to put a couple to the side to find a clean one.

Beautiful entrance hall and good varied breakfast. Communal areas such as the bar and dining room are cosy and welcoming. Room was very clean. Great location for exploring Buxton. Staff generally friendly.

Property was good. 2nd night we ate in the restaurant with our grandkids unfortunately we were told that the menu was fixed and we couldn’t change the vey with any meal - very disappointing Also having children with us we would have liked to have been able to have the majority of our party eat from the restaurant menu but for 1 person to pick from the bar menu - again told no So very inflexible considering we were there to spend money. I would suggest that you also had more staff as when we had eaten there were none visible to take our dessert order, I also noticed that another large table were in a similar position and also the hotel bar had no staff. A lady after waiting a while walked round to the kitchen door and opened it to ask where the staff were as there was 6 people waiting to order drinks….. When I asked for the bill a girl came to the table with a card machine and told us what our bill was and presented me with the card machine to pay. I asked for a copy of the bill as I would like to see it before paying…. Having said that out first night was a totally different experience all good Again I would suggest you are understaffed

The room was great even though it was one of the budget rooms in the hotel.
